How Can Anybody Work???

On a day like today, it seems like God is crying out to His people to stop what they're doing and enjoy this beautiful day. It's almost 10am here in Muncie...and it's warm...and it's only going to get warmer. I'm half-tempted (which I suppose is better than a full-temptation) to head to the pool store, purchase the necessary chemicals, and open the pool up today. Sure, it will be a little cold (the water temperature was over 60 yesterday...so, it's not too bad), but I bet it'd be worth it! Well, I already know that I'm going to hold off on the pool for at least another week (maybe two). But, this is definitely one of those days where I question how any of us can work.

You know, I think that schools and businesses have it all wrong. Instead of canceling school because of snow and slick roads, they should cancel school because of beautiful days. The weatherman said today's high temperature will be 16 degrees above normal! That's huge! That's worthy of celebration. That's worthy of shutting down factories, offices, schools, all businesses and telling people to get out and enjoy the day.

Of course, as I'm writing this, I'm sitting behind the desk in my office looking out the window and trying to practice some self-control by staying put, doing my work, and enjoying a pleasant evening after a good days work. I just hope it's this gorgeous out when it's my day off!
